Campaign Leader & Skipper
Campbell Mackie
For Campbell the last decade of ocean voyaging has been a kaleidoscope of unexpected opportunity, achievement and satisfaction. The eighteen months since Outlaw crossed the OGR finish line have been a time of vivid flashbacks and constant reflection - confirming that blue water voyaging is not only a test of seamanship but a window into the essence of human resilience, where the ocean strips life down to its purest form and reveals what it means to be truly alive. It builds friendships that are enduring and defined by an intense spirit of camaraderie.
The challenge of Outlaw's 2023 campaign was as much about getting to that start line as it was about the circumnavigation. With Outlaw now validated as a well-found ocean racer, the next campaign will have a different frame of reference. A fresh adventure with a different nuance.
With 100,000 miles of ocean sailing under his keel, Campbell is already committed to his third circumnavigation.

Team Coordinator
Lucy Frost
As an original member of the OGR23 / Outlaw team, Lucy was fully involved in the project from start to finish. From buying the Baltic 55, refitting Outlaw in the US, recruiting the team, sailing Outlaw back to the UK, parts procurement and race admin, all leading up to the start line. And then of course, racing around the world – that was the easy bit!
With the circumnavigation around the big Capes firmly under her belt, Lucy’s future plans are to cruise the world at a much slower pace.
However, with her husband Dean now looking to join the OGR27 / Outlaw team line-up, it seemed only sensible that she continued offering her knowledge and experience to the future team.

Engineer
Glenn Manchett
Glenn's introduction to sailing is posted in the crew profiles of Outlaw's 2023 campaign. Now, with 70,000 miles of ocean passages under his keel, he is ready to go again. This, despite his end of race vow never to go to sea again! It's a mystery that even he is unable to explain. Adventure is addictive it seems.
Glenn was in the first cohort to arrive in America in 2022 and start the deconstruction and refit of Outlaw. His engineering skill and persistence provided the momentum that got us to the start line. His knowledge of the boat thus acquired was a much valued asset during the race. Whatever went wrong he always found a workaround.
His quiet but cheerful personality was valued by his crew mates during the long cold night watches in the southern ocean. When asked by the navigator what course he had achieved during his trick at the wheel it was always the one instructed accompanied by a cheeky grin. One thing that will wipe the smile off his face is the end of the Jammy Dodgers in the snack pack!

Team Manager
Marie Manchett
Loving so many things about sailing …. from a secure land-base, Marie’s first experience of the boat racing world was as a member of the Sanya Serenity Supporters’ Team for Clipper RTW 2017-18. The camaraderie and excitement of following the boats on a RTW race was a fantastic experience and she was glad to have the opportunity to do so again with Outlaw and OGR 2023. Being Race Team Manager offers the chance to get as close to the team, boat, and the race as possible…. without the need to actually get on the water.

Bosun
Dean Frost
Dean is no stranger to ocean crossings, having crossed the Atlantic many times, in aircraft carriers, sailing yachts and he also rowed across it in 2021 for charity.
Having supported Lucy during the OGR23, he's also completed much of the ongoing maintenance on board, making him a prime candidate for the role of Bosun. Dean also raced on Outlaw for the Fastnet races in 2023 and 2025.
Dean is always looking for his next challenge. He has completed Marathon des Sable and multiple Ironmans in the past, is currently training to kayak the length of the Thames next April and has put a deposit down on a 5.8m boat to do the Mini Transat in October next year - keeping it in the McIntyre Adventures family! So with nothing to do in 2027, the OGR was the obvious choice.
